Creation of the world in Islam

The creation of the world in the Koran is described in a little bit another way that it was described in the Bible. Islam doesn't refute the idea about the week holy day that is explained in the Bible as the message that the God was resting during the seventh day. But Islam considers this day to be Friday and not Sunday.
According to the Koran the world was created during 6 days. According to the modern investigators of the Koran the word "days" must be interpreted as meaning of the long period of time and not as 24 hours day.
According to the conception of the Koran first the sky and the earth were mixed and later they were divided into the separate categories. The sky was created to the land and the land to the sky. Allah created the world from the gas mass the elements of which were mixed in the very beginning that becomes separate fragments later.
The Koran says that Allah also created the moon and the sun that were moving according to their round circle. The Bible tells us about the sun and the moon as two lamps to rule the day and the night. But Koran divides them using the certain description: the light for the Moon and the torch for the Sun.
In other details Koran almost corresponds to the Bible in the creation of the world according to the days' arrangement.
Modern theological scientists turn to the idea of the word "day" use as meaning the long period of time. Such point of view is popular in both Christianity and Islam that may be the base for the formation of the new conception.
